What’s the best online course you’ve ever taken?

Today’s prompt got me thinking, and honestly, I didn’t have to think too hard about my answer.

A cooking class!

Yes, friend, a COOKING CLASS.

Now, before you start wondering if I’ve finally decided to open a restaurant, relax. Let me gist you first.

I’ve always loved cooking, and there’s something satisfying about being able to prepare a delicious meal and watch people enjoy it. But loving something doesn’t mean you know everything about it, does it?

There’s always something new to learn.

Taking that cooking class gave me the opportunity to learn new recipes, improve my cooking skills, discover techniques I probably wouldn’t have figured out on my own, and generally become better at something I already enjoyed doing.

And that was the beautiful part for me: I wasn’t just learning something new; I was improving at something I already loved.

Sometimes, we think online courses have to be about career advancement, making more money, learning a new profession, or adding another certificate to our CVs. And while those things are great, learning can also be about personal interests, hobbies, curiosity, and simply becoming better at the things that make us happy.

Not every skill we acquire has to translate into a promotion or a business opportunity.

Sometimes, learning is just learning. And that’s perfectly fine.

So, when I think about the best online course I’ve taken, my cooking class comes to mind. It was practical, enjoyable, and an opportunity to grow in an area I genuinely love.
