Besides cooking, the next thing I love to do is writing.
There’s something about putting thoughts into words that has always felt natural to me. Writing has always been one of the ways I express myself, make sense of my thoughts, and connect with people – strangers even more.
Many years ago, I took the step to share this side of me with the world. I created a space where I could write, express myself, and share the things that lived in my head and heart. It was exciting to finally give my creativity a voice.
Well, technically, I didn’t exactly create it all by myself back then.
A friend helped me set up my first blog, and honestly, I didn’t even know how he did it. I just knew I had a blog, and I was excited to finally have a space where I could write and share my thoughts with the world.
But this time, it’s different.
I did it myself.
From scratch.
I had to figure things out, learn as I went, make mistakes, ask questions, and sometimes stare at my screen wondering, “What exactly am I doing?”

But I kept going.
And there’s something incredibly fulfilling about knowing that this time, I didn’t just return to writing; I created the space for it myself.
But, just like life sometimes does, things didn’t go exactly as planned.
I was studying something entirely opposite to my passion, and somewhere along the way, I found myself struggling to merge the two. Writing slowly took a back seat. Life got busy. Challenges came. And then I did the one thing many of us do when things become difficult —
I QUIT.
Eventually, my domain was sold to someone else, and just like that, I lost the blog I once had.
For a while, I let that chapter stay closed.
But something kept tugging at my heart.
Start again.
Try again.
Don’t let that creative part of you become redundant.
Still, I was scared.
Scared of starting over.
Scared of failing again.
Scared that I would put my work out there and nobody would read it.
Scared that I would lose interest again.
Scared that perhaps the time had simply passed.
Scared that I wasn’t capable of building a blog from scratch all by myself.
And honestly, the list is endless.

But recently, I found myself asking a different question:
What if I stop waiting to feel unafraid?
What if being scared isn’t a sign that I shouldn’t do it?
What if I can be scared and still take the step?
So, I decided to do something different.
I decided to do it scared.
I started again.
Not because I suddenly became fearless, or because I have everything figured out, or even because I know exactly where this new beginning will lead.
I started because I realised that waiting until I felt completely ready might mean waiting forever.
Courage doesn’t always look like confidence, clarity, or certainty.
Sometimes, it looks like trembling hands, a racing heart, unanswered questions, and still saying:
“I’m going to try.”
Do you have something you’ve been putting off because you’re afraid?
Starting that business.
Writing that book.
Applying for that job.
Going back to school.
Starting over.
Leaving something or someone behind.
Creating something you’ve always wanted to create.
Or simply becoming the person you’ve always known you could be.
And maybe you’re waiting for the fear to disappear before you begin.
It’s okay to be scared.
But what if the fear doesn’t disappear?
Go anyway.
You don’t need to know exactly how everything will turn out. You don’t need everyone’s approval. You don’t need to be completely confident.
Sometimes, you just need enough courage to take the first step.
Replace the “ifs” with the “whens” and the “I can’t” with “I can and in fact, I will.”
I don’t know where this new chapter of writing will take me. I don’t know how many people will read my words, how many will connect with them, or what will come from putting my thoughts out into the world again.
But I know this:
I would rather try again and discover where this journey leads than spend another few years wondering what could have happened if I had only tried.
So, here I am.
Starting again.
Writing again.
Creating again.

And this time, I’m not waiting for fear to leave.
Because sometimes, the thing standing between you and the life, dream, or version of yourself you’ve been hoping for isn’t the absence of opportunity, but the fear of the unknown.
So now, I’m doing it scared.
And maybe this time, that’s all the courage I need.
Maybe you should too.
Do it scared—you never know.
