“Practice what you preach,” they say.

So today, I decided to practice what I preach.

I bought a tablet.

Now, before you ask, “Why a tablet?”

Well… because I am yet to afford a laptop.

And for a while, I kept thinking I needed the laptop before I could really get started.

But then I remembered something I had written about recently:

Do it scared.

Shift your focus.

And suddenly, I realised I was talking to myself too.

So I dared myself.

I told myself, Girl, use what you have.

It may not be the laptop you want.

It may not be the perfect setup.

But it is something.

And sometimes, the first step doesn’t look like the big breakthrough you’ve imagined. Sometimes, it looks like a small decision that says, I’m not waiting anymore.

So I bought the tablet.

Was I scared?

A little.

Was I questioning whether I was making the right decision?

Absolutely.

Did I do it anyway?

Boy! I went all in.

Because if I truly believe in everything I write about, then I have to be willing to live it too.

Today, I dared myself to stop waiting for everything to be perfect.

I dared myself to start with what I have.

I dared myself to believe that the laptop will come when it comes.

But until then…

I’m going to work with my tablet.

And who knows?

Maybe one day, I’ll look back at this little tablet and remember that it was one of the things that helped me begin.

So yes…

Today, I dared myself.

And I’m glad I did.
