If aliens arrived tomorrow, what’s the first thing you’d ask them?
Okay, imagine this.
You wake up tomorrow, look outside your window and – boom!
Aliens.
Not in a movie. Not in a dream. Actually standing there, looking at us like “So… this is Earth?”
After the initial screaming, running and probably calling somebody who will never believe you, what would you ask them?
Me?
I think my first question would be:
“What do you know about us that we don’t know about ourselves?”
Because think about it.
They would be outsiders looking in. They wouldn’t know our family drama, our office politics, our heartbreaks or why we keep saying “I’m fine” when we clearly are not. lol
They might look at humanity and notice things we’ve become too used to seeing.
Maybe they’d wonder why we spend so much of our lives chasing things that don’t truly make us happy.
Why we hold on to people who hurt us.
Why we compare our lives to strangers on the internet.
Why we postpone living until we finally have enough money, enough confidence, enough time or enough courage.
And honestly, that question got me thinking.
What if we could step outside ourselves and see our lives the way a complete stranger would?
What would they notice?
Would they see someone who is genuinely happy?
Someone constantly exhausted from trying to prove something?
Someone holding on to a chapter that has already ended?
Someone who is just acting life’s script?
Or someone who is slowly becoming the person they’ve always wanted to be?
Maybe we don’t need aliens to give us those answers.
Maybe sometimes, we just need to pause long enough to look at ourselves honestly.
Because perhaps the most interesting thing an outsider could discover about us…
is the truth we’ve been avoiding ourselves.
Now, if those aliens really did land tomorrow, I’d still have a few questions about their technology. lol
But that first one?
I’d really want to know the answer.
READ. FEEL. REFLECT. THEN TALK TO ME. I’d love to hear from YOU.
