What’s something you’ve done that you never thought you could?
Starting over.
I’m the kind of person who tires easily, especially when things aren’t working out. I can get so excited about an idea, put my heart into it and then start questioning everything when the results don’t come as fast as I’d hoped.
No one says this enough but the temptation to give up easily is very real.
Now, I’m showing up, trying again, chasing my goals and learning to be consistent even when things don’t go as planned or no matter how frustrating it gets and when i think about it, i realize that the difference isn’t that I’m no longer afraid of failing or have mastered the art of patience.
I think I’ve grown.
I’ve come to understand that a slow season doesn’t mean I’m not making any progress, a failed attempt doesn’t cancel me for life, starting over doesn’t mean that all my previous attempts were a waste and most importantly, I’ve learnt to give myself the same grace that I so readily give others.
I’m still learning, I still get tired and I still have moments when I wonder if all my efforts will eventually pay off but I don’t let those moments decide what happens next in my life.
And perhaps, that’s what growth looks like. Not having everything figured out. This is a different feeling, a good one and I’m loving it.
READ. FEEL. REFLECT. THEN TALK TO ME. I’d love to hear from YOU.
